    • What do I do on Telebears? When would I sign up for CS98 instead of CS61AS?
    • You would sign up for CS98 if you're taking Unit 0 or Unit 5. You only sign up for 61AS units for units 1-4. If you're taking Units 0-3, you sign up for 1 unit of CS98 and 3 units of CS61AS

    • How does attendance work?
    • You get 0.5 points for every hour that you're in lab or discussion. There is a maximum number of points you can get that depends on which units you are taking.

    • How do deadlines work?
    • There are deadlines for each homework assignment, and a deadline for each unit. The unit deadline is the last day to take quizzes for that unit. It is also the date that the project is due for units 1-4. The deadlines can be found here.

    • How are homeworks and projects graded?
    • Homeworks are graded on effort, while projects are graded on correctness. However, for both homeworks and projects, your .scm file must load into STk to get any credit.

    • So what are the late penalties?
    • For homeworks, you can use slip days in order to turn in the homework late. If you do not have any more slip days, then you will get no credit for late homeworks. You cannot use slip days on projects. Projects that are one day late receive a 5% penalty. 2-3 days late is a 25% penalty. 3-7 days late is a 50% penalty. More than 7 days late will receive no credit.

    • How do slip days work?
    • You start out with 6 slip days. For each day that your assignment is late, you burn one slip day. If you burn all your slip days, you cannot get any credit for late homeworks. If you turn the next homework in on time and it passes the autograder, you get your slip days back.
You can only use your slipdays on homeworks, not projects!

    • Is this course curved?
    • No. Your grade is determined solely by the number of points you have gotten.

    • What's the academic honesty policy?
    • We encourage collaboration, but there is a limit. At no point should you have any other person's code in your possession. This constitutes cheating and will result in at minimum a negative score for the assignment. We will run all submissions through a cheating detection checker. However, no one will be accused of cheating without a chance to explain themselves. If you're unsure if something is cheating, ask before doing it!
