MIT Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp!

The MIT Bootcamps gives entrepreneurs a taste of drinking from the firehose that all MIT students experience. The bootcamp is a one-week, intensive, in-person training entrepreneurship education program.

Who is the bootcamp for?

  • An entrepreneur. I have an early-stage startup or aspire to start one. I want to get on a path to a paying customer and meet potential co-founders and collaborators from around the world.
  • A corporate entrepreneur. I work at a growth-stage startup or established enterprise. I want to help my company innovate. At the Bootcamp I will learn new tools and will meet potential partners and recruits from around the world.
  • A team. We want to work with MIT to develop a rigorous business plan, pressure-test our processes and become a better team.

Hear what one of our bootcampers has to say about
the bootcamp experience!

Required online courses
This is a highly selective program for highly motivated entrepreneurs. Those who make it to the bootcamp will be challenged to start a company in one week. Students will need to prove they can achieve excellence in the required online courses before they apply to the bootcamp.

Ask not what your customer can do for you,
ask what you can do for your customer.

In Entrepreneurship 101, you’ve learned to look at the world through the eyes of the customer – and ah, what a great perspective it is!

But the journey doesn’t stop there. For the holy grail of specificity – while already within reach – there is still much to learn before obtaining it.

Just as important as finding your customer is creating a great product that will solve the customer’s problem. How will customers acquire your product? How will it solve the customer’s problem? What value will your product bring? What is your secret sauce? How do you stack up vis-à-vis the competition?

From fields as diverse as virtual immortality, small business marketing, urban design, language education, healthcare, and entrepreneur support services, we use in-depth case studies of entrepreneurs to examine how they developed their product concepts, solved their customer’s problem, established a clear value proposition, refined their secret sauce, and understood their competition.

The journey continues. Are you with us? The customer is waiting.

Action Learning Assessments

At MIT, we believe theory must be practiced so we will expect you to get out there into the real world to validate your hypotheses specifically by:

  • how you will your product will fit into their lives
  • how do you develop a visual description of it
  • quantify the value proposition
  • Identify the next 10 customers
  • define your core and last but not least
  • chart your competitive position
