About This Course

The Community Leadership course requires 1 hour. You will complete reflection activities on leadership, watch videos about leadership, read about characteristics of effective leaders, and most importantly, think about how you would apply these leadership principles in your work.

This course counts as a 1 hour DSHS certified continuing education unit.

Requirements: There are no pre-requisites for participating in the course.

This course is brought to you through a collaboration between Maternal Child Health Training Program and Texas Public Health Training Center.

MCH Training Program

The purpose of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Training Program is to strengthen the capacity of the rural public health work force to meet the diverse needs of MCH populations via accessible and customized public health education and training. The program is designed to enhance the core public health practice with an explicit focus on an MCH-specific professional identity.

Texas Public Health Training Center

The Texas Public Health Training Center (TPHTC) is a training resource for current and future public health workers in the State of Texas. Through a partnership with the Texas A&M University School of Public Health, the University of North Texas School of Public Health, and The University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) School of Public Health, we collaborate with community organizations, and health care delivery systems to provide competency-based training and education for the public health workforce.
