DEV SHELL | VITA Basic Certification Training

About This Course

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA prepares income tax returns for low income families, saving them money on tax preparation services and helping them access tax credits. Volunteers learn basic tax preparation skills, complete an exam that earns them IRS certification as a VITA tax preparer, and practice those skills helping others. This self-paced study guide is designed to prepare you to pass the IRS Basic VITA certification exam.

Requirements

There are no requirements to complete this study guide. It is geared toward VITA operations at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, but any prospective VITA volunteer is welcome to use it.
