Climate change, biodiversity loss, and resource overexploitation threaten ocean and coral reef ecosystems. Transitioning our economic systems toward a sustainable blue economy can help protect both nature and human well-being. This course explores how economic systems impact marine environments and how sustainable practices can drive positive change.

Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, the course supports learners in understanding their local blue economy context.

The course includes participatory learning, discussions, and exercises, helping participants to identify risks, opportunities, and practical solutions for a sustainable ocean economy.

Designed for a broad audience, including government officials, researchers, NGOs, and private sector professionals, the course adapts to different levels of experience in sustainability and economics. It encourages knowledge-sharing and collaboration to foster innovative approaches to ocean conservation.
