Risk Management in Development Projects

About this course

Sometimes we see project teams that invest a great deal of their time and effort in solving problems instead of preventing them. Risk management is an area of knowledge in project management that aims to reduce the likelihood and impact of negative events, and increase positive events.

But how can we identify risks in uncertain scenarios? with whom do we carry out this task? how do we know which risks have to be managed in environments with limited resources? what strategies exist to respond to positive or negative events that appear in a project? and how do we know that there are new risks? These and other questions will be discussed with the tutor in this course on risk management in development projects.

The content presented in the course is based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge PMBOK Guide Sixth Edition, 2017 of the Project Management Institute (PMI) ®, the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management, 2009, of the Project Management Institute (PMI) ®, and the Inter-American Development Bank risk management methodology.
