Welcome to the landing page for the 9th season of Living Writers Online! Once you select Enroll in LW360, you’ll be signed up to join Jennifer Brice, her colleagues, and their students as they encounter the work of 10 exciting writers this fall. The program is entirely self-paced. Sample one book from the list, or tackle all 10. Feel free to comment, read, watch, listen, or even lurk — as little or as much as you like.

This fall's line-up is rich in novels, including works by John Banville (The Sea), Kamila Shamsie (Home Fire), Justin Torres (We the Animals), Esi Edugyan (Washington Black) and Colgate’s own CJ Hauser (Family of Origin). We’ve also got short stories by Jenny Zhang (Sour Heart) and a thrilling hybrid by Alexander Chee (How to Write an Autobiographical Novel). Prize-winning poems by Layli Long Soldier (WHEREAS), Terry Tempest Williams’s classic memoir (Refuge: An Unnatural History of Family and Place), and a work of literary journalism by Colgate alumnus Dan Slater '00 (Wolf Boys: Two American Teenagers and Mexico’s Most Dangerous Drug Cartel) round out our list.

This EdX program will go live on Sept. 3.
