About This Course

A course covering the most important of solid-state phase transformations that occur in steels. This includes atomic mechanisms, thermodynamics, kinetics, microstructural development and the design of steels, supported by specific case studies.

In addition to its availability on the wonderful edX platform, the course has been used on five occasions to supplement live lectures at the University of Cambridge, POSTECH in South Korea, and the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium.

Prerequisites

Undergraduate knowledge of physical metallurgy.
